Thousands of protesters took to the streets in the Wan Chai district of Hong Kong, Sunday, to protest against a face mask ban set by the government.
Police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowds of protesters, who were chanting slogans.
Over the weekend, legislators filed a request to suspend the government ban on protesters wearing facemasks, but the HK High Court rejected it, however they did win a judicial review of the legislation, which will resume later in October.
Despite heavy rain and the main MTR train stations shutdown, the rally gathered tens of thousands of young activists, according to reports.
